Karuah Pharmacy Depot was originally established in a small premises next to the current liquor shop, it sold general pharmacy items except medicines as it wasn’t a true pharmacy and no pharmacist. All the pharmacy regulated medicines ordered were placed and processed in the Terrace and delivered back to town. It was then sold, eventually became a proper pharmacy and then relocated to the current position.

Karuah Pharmacy has been operating at the current location for over 20 years by different operators. Despite the impact from the Karuah highway bypass in 2004, absent of doctor and the instability of corporate management, Karuah Pharmacy remains the iconic family pharmacy for many.

New management has recently breathed fresh life into the pharmacy. Wilson and the team strive to maintain the history of this iconic pharmacy, and to grow the pharmacy to become a cornerstone in the communities for providing primary healthcare services.

Our pharmacist, Wilson, will take the time to go through your medications with you, to explain how your medications work and how to take them appropriately. Wilson will provide you with clear verbal or written information, ensuring you understand about your medications and receiving the best benefits out of your medications. We provide personalised care tailored to your health needs.

Wilson Soh (Manager, Consultant Pharmacist)

Wilson was born in Malaysia. He completed his pharmacy study at University of South Australia in 2007, he then further studied to become an Accredited Consultant Pharmacist in 2009. He had experience working in both hospital and community pharmacies across the country, including Australian Outback, before moving to Karuah/Tea Gardens. Wilson has been living in the area for over 7 years. He has great rapport with the local GPs and the communities. He is the only Consultant Pharmacist in the region, and he also does home visit for medication reviews. He adores the community, he believes in bringing a change in people’s lives, improving it with compassion, honesty and earthy devotion.

Shauna Hollier (Retail Manager)

Shauna started her pharmacy career back in 1987. She worked for Soul Pattison Pharmacy in Sydney for over 4 years before moving to Karuah in 1989. She and her husband, Dave, run a family business, and raised 5 beautiful children together. She joined Karuah Pharmacy in 2010, and completed certificate III in pharmacy while working her way up to become Retail Manager in 2012. She loves the community and always go above and beyond on customer service. She met wonderful people, and built friendship with many of our customers. She is thankful for the opportunity to look after you and your family’s needs.

Skye McAlpine (Pharmacy Assistant)

Skye is s true local girl, she was born and bred in Karuah. She has worked in different industries in the past and completed her Certificate III of Assisting In Nursing in 2011. She and her husband, Adrian, have a daughter called Haylee and a baby on the way. She joined our team in 2015, and has gained great insight of the pharmacy industry. She is our Webster Packing’s champion, and always does her best to ensure our customers are well looked after.

Rebecca Brown (Pharmacy Assistant)

Rebecca completed an Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management and had over 13 years’ experience in the hospitality industry before joining us at Karuah Pharmacy. She joined us in early 2016. She and her husband, Ben, has a beautiful daughter and many extended families in town. She has great passion in customer service and always goes above to assist the customers, so you can count on her.
